How does one submit a question for this page?
If you have a question that you has been bugging you about Pegoretti and you think that other people would be interested in knowing all you need to do is contact us here (webmaster@pegoretticicli.com) and I'll do my best to find out! But no questions about which riders etc. we have built for! We cannot tell you!!

Why do Pegoretti not use carbon fibre?
Currently we do not make anything using this material. There are many reason why. Firstly we are not interested in using a prefabricated prepackaged product that is generally made only to look good. We like to think that what we produce, we design, modify and test and re-do until we are satisfied. Secondly we do not have the experience or the understanding of this material sufficiently to use on a frame and we also lack the technical know how. Thirdly we do not think it very professional to join a drop out with one tube or a monostay by a 6mm bolt and we guarantee that you will lose rear triangle rigidity. Fourthly we find "politically" little sense in throwing in a product that just comes along, (as happens in the overwhelming majority of cases), is constructed abroad and finally we do not feel it is necessary. Because of such a hybrid of aluminium/carbon, steel/carbon you are not able to see the real improvement in respect of a frame constructed from a more traditional material.

Why do Pegoretti make there own dropouts?
One of the things we are often asked is why are the drop outs so visible and imposing. Such a component is designed to work with the chain stays. We think that the diameter of the chain stays is very important in the area around the join with the drop out. The enlargement of the diameter of this area and the consequences relative to the inertia movement of this section heavily influences the capacity of power transfer through the rear triangle.

Why do Pegoretti currently use only totally round tubes?
All the frames we produce use round and cylindrical tubes, that is without a profile. Naturally the diameters and thickness of the tubes that result are those needed to build a certain sized frame for a rider of a certain weight.
This is why we keep the round form tubes as they generally offer better performance in respect of the varied profile tubes considering the complexity of loading and the direction of stress applied to the frame.

Why are no weights listed?
We do not list weights as they are not our number one concern, our number one concern is making a bike that handles well. It's very easy to make a frame that's light, but very difficult to make a frame that hadles well and is light. Our frames are as lighter and often lighter than other made from the same materials on the market from other builders.

Where do the frame names come from?
Most of the frame names come from music, people, art, etc. Just about anything really. Most of the time it is a refection on whats happening at the time.

So who have you built for in the past?

How do I contact Pegoretti?
If you want to contact Pegoretti please go to the contact page [ click here ]. If you want to ask a specific question to either Dario or Gianni Pegoretti then please use these email address: [ Dario ] [ Gianni ] But please understand if you do not get a reply quickly, they are both very busy building frames, but they will try and answer your questions.

Can one visit the Pegoretti workshop?

(Why do you want to do that? - Ed) Yes you can, but you need to let us know when you want to visit, so we can make sure we are in. Please email Gianni [ Gianni ] to arrange a time. We are just outside Trento in Northern Italy. If you drive like an Italian it takes about 2 hours from Milano.
